Renewable energy finds its place in confectionery

Dzūkija UAB, founded in 1965, is one of the largest confectionery companies in Lithuania. The company’s production areas cover about 2 000 square metres and it produces a wide range of confectionery products, including the most famous – Šakotis – which has become the company’s calling card in both Lithuanian and foreign markets.

The company has implemented the project “Use of renewable energy resources for electricity production in UAB Dzūkija”. The aim was to reduce the intensity of energy consumption in the company by increasing the production and consumption of RES.

A solar power plant was built and used to generate energy from the sun to meet the company’s internal needs. Thanks to this, we are reducing pollution levels, contributing to climate change mitigation and green energy production.
The project is worth €305,922.00, of which €214,145.40 is financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the remainder by the company.
